Where Greece comes to the table.

Our cuisine is inspired by the traditional tastes of the Mediterranean. This family-run restaurant is a place for authentic dishes, made from the freshest ingredients, from recipes passed down through the generations.

Each plate is a journey to the sun-soaked coasts of Greece — charcoal-grilled souvlaki, gyros, seafood, and the herb that gives us our name.

Named for basil — vasilikos.

You might wonder why we are called The Basil. It is because of a truly wonderful aromatic herb, used to flavour so many popular Greek dishes. Greek food simply would not be the same without it.

Basil, βασιλικός, grows abundantly in Greece. It finds its way into salads, breads, soups and grilled meats — a native plant of the Mediterranean, and the signature of this kitchen.

Yet another beautiful evening here. The restaurant is an absolute gem. Julianna is very, very welcoming and patient. Nothing is ever too much trouble, even when the restaurant is busy.

Hands down some of the best greek food I have had in years. My lamb souvlaki was truly outstanding — cooked to perfection over the hot coal grill.
